PRESENTING ON PURPOSE

  • We offer 1 Day Presenting On Purpose™ | Professional Workshops to meet the needs of our clients. Time is precious in today's' business world. It is simply not possible for some people to dedicate 2-3 days in a row. When we do so, we always communicate the reality that 1 Day is not a lot of time. For that reason, we will recommend to our clients a 'series of 1 Day Workshops' over a relatively short period of time. Each 1 Day Workshop builds on the previous one.

  • The Presenting On Purpose™ | Executive Program is an opportunity to stop and focus on a critical facet of your business life... Communication. You know how important it is to be at the top of our game. Two days typically provides enough time for one or two individuals to make serious strides in their effectiveness. It's enough time to lay a solid foundation, to instill a process discipline, to develop individual soft skills, and just enough time to get a clear picture of what's really going on, and address it. If crafting an important presentation is part of the mission, we may need more time.

  • We realize that 2 days seems like a long seminar. We have learned, after 25 years of experience, that 2 days is the minimum amount of time needed for a group session to get the kind of return on investment our clients demand. It’s important to note that we are changing lifetime habits. If you want to see demonstrable transformation in your teams' ability to prepare, deliver and get the results you want from meetings, presentations and phone calls, you have to invest the time that’s needed. It won’t happen in a single day seminar.

  • We have found that in order for each participant to receive the personal attention and individual coaching they need, we need to limit the size of the group to 8 people. The session is done in a modular fashion. Each module has a discussion component and an exercise component. Some of these exercises are individual exercises and some are better suited as group exercises. After a certain number of modules, participants will be asked to prepare for and deliver a communication. People learn by doing, not listening, not watching, by experiencing. There is a lot of thinking, a lot of looking, a lot of exercises and a lot of practice delivering a variety of communications from phone calls and one-to-one conversations to meetings and large group presentations.

  • We are attempting to cover an entire semester of material in a very short period of time. In order to cover the amount of material in the session necessary to get the results our clients expect, we need to ask participants to prepare in advance for the following day. They will be preparing presentations using our proprietary process. The more times they use the process, the faster they can prepare. The time spent preparing in advance is time saved in the session..

  • Triv”i*um\,n is a Latin term meaning “the three ways” or “the three roads” forming the foundation of a medieval liberal arts education, that being, logic –the art of thinking, grammar –the art of symbolizing, and rhetoric –the art or ability to communicate that which is thought, symbolized and persuade others; – being a triple way, as it were, to eloquence. Far from ‘basic,’ Trivium Performance is a highly respected corporate communications consulting and professional development firm that has ingeniously integrated advanced behavioral modification with ancient wisdom handed down from Aristotle and Socrates.

  • It is integral to the success of the program that all attendees are present for the entire session. Attendees should block the dates and times (8am - 6pm on day 1 and 2, 8am - 1pm on day 3) for the program and not schedule any meetings or important phone calls during open sessions. Time is available during the lunch hour, and 10 minute breaks will occur about every hour and a half. Late arrivals, mid-class disruptions, unexpected or early departures will quickly serve to erode the effectiveness and tarnish the integrity of the program. All efforts should be made to avoid any and all conflicts during the session. Any known or anticipated absence or early departures from the session should be communicated to the facilitator in advance of the program. Savannah International Airport is only 45 mins away. Hilton Head Island Airport is 15 mins.

  • Continental breakfast, in room coffee, drinks and healthy snacks, catered lunch and afternoon snack are provided. Participants are on the own for dinner.

  • Although watching ourselves on video can be uncomfortable, observing ourselves objectively can be extremely valuable. The video doesn’t lie. Seeing is believing. Participants review their presentations with their instructor and receive personal coaching. The use of videotaping is exclusively a teaching tool. After each presentation, the facilitator and participant will huddle together and watch a small portion of the video. This ‘personal’ coaching, this ‘private’ time is invaluable to the participant and critical to the success of the program. All seminar attendees will be sent a link to their personal folder on Dropbox.com, with all of their presentations following the program.

  • The advantages of the Presenting On Purpose™ | Open Program are many. One of the greatest benefit is reduced cost. The program fee and travel expenses for only one or two participants are significantly less than they would be for a team of 6 to 8 people. Another benefit is the diversity. Since attendees can be from any company, any agency, any organization, any industry, any sector, and have any role, attendees have the opportunity to watch and critique other attendees deliver the types of communications they engage in daily. Some may be selling products over the phone, some may be conducting product demonstrations via video-conference, while others are speaking at board meetings or fund raising for a local not-for-profit. One con might be the presentations are irrelevant to the other participants so the shared learning that happens with team sessions is not as vibrant.

  • Hilton Head Island, Sea Pines Resort and Harbourtown all offer plenty of things to do. We invite participants to come to Hilton Head Island early and/or stay a little longer to enjoy all that we have to offer. Whether it's tennis, golf, boating, fishing, shopping, fine dining or sight-seeing, there's plenty to see and do!  It's the perfect place to recreate. re·cre·ate, rēkrēˈāt/ verb, anything that gives life back again

GET THE MESSAGE | EXECUTIVE PROJECT

  • No, not necessarily. You might be a community leader, a school principal, an entrepreneur, a fund-raiser or want to run for political office, it doesn't matter. We've worked with Methodist Ministers to Plan Giving Directors at Major Colleges. They all needed help in crafting and delivering their message. We would love to help you too!

  • Yes, it is possible to conduct a Message Consulting | Executive Project using state of the art video-conferencing technology. The session modules are executed in 1.5 hour time periods, and can be conducted over an extended period of time if desired, saving valuable time and resources. Some clients have elected to place us on consultant retainer, making us available to clients for multiple assignments including coaching, messaging, marketing, and speaking engagements.

  • The Message Consulting | Executive Project is for only one or two people that need help crafting a particular presentation. The Message Consulting | Team Project is a more team-oriented collaborative effort to distill collectively what your target audience needs to hear and what you should expect as an outcome from a core presentation(s) about your company or your product(s) or both. The Message Consulting | Team Project is a more sizable undertaking. There will be multiple people delivering the presentation, some in person as well as some over the phone. In addition, the the marketing department needs to be intricately involved as they will also create marketing materials to support the new message in print, on the web and main stream media.

GET THE MESSAGE | TEAM PROJECT

  • The Get The Message™ | Team Project is a sizable undertaking. Collaborating on presentations, speaker notes and slide layouts, nailing down all the tough questions for a rebuttal file, selecting the best opening for the presentation, deciding on marketing materials that will be needed, sales tools, etc. Day One is dedicated to building the speaker notes, maybe the storyboard. Day Two, comb the speaker notes, storyboard, then roster the tough questions and have a discussion around marketing support, assign tasks to attendees, set targeted deadlines for deliverables.

  • The Get The Message™ | Message Premier is imperative if you want the team to genuinely embrace and begin delivering this new presentation that was so meticulously crafted by 6-8 carefully selected team members. They don't know what they have, they don't have the proper context for what we are asking them to talk about. Unless you take the time to tell them what we did, who did it, why we did the way we did it, they will dismiss it, and all the hard work we did will be in vane. It's like hitting a golf ball. You have to tee it up if you want the ball to go straight and far. The same is true here. You get one opportunity to tee it up. Don't blow it.
